NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The members of Dove Award winning vocal group First Call recently attended the 2013 National Religious Broadcasters Convention (NRB), held March 2-5, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. Melodie Tunney, Bonnie Keen and Marty McCall were at the convention to promote the group's upcoming tour, as well as perform at the NRB Awards Dinner, the finale of the four-day event.
"This year's NRB was a highlight for First Call, as we prepare for our own upcoming concerts as well as the Lord of All Tour, with Wayne Watson, Russ Taff, and Clay Crosse," says Melodie Tunney of First Call. "It was a blessing to reunite with wonderful friends in radio and television, and see some new faces, too. We're looking forward to a new season of ministry and NRB was a great way to kick it off!" While at NRB, the group performed at the Awards Dinner, sharing the stage with Taff, Watson, Crosse, and speaker Joni Eareckson Tada.
Thousands of Christian broadcasters, programmers, ministers and others participated in the convention, which is presented annually by the National Religious Broadcasters.
About NRB:
The annual National Religious Broadcasters Convention & Exposition (NRB) is the largest nationally and internationally recognized event dedicated solely to assisting those in the field of Christian communications. The dynamic exposition consists of nearly 200 companies and is an active marketplace for those seeking tools and services to expand their ministries. NRB 2013 was held March 2-5 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville. The 2014 Convention is scheduled for Feb. 22-25, 2014, in Nashville. About First Call:
When Melodie Tunney, Bonnie Keen and Marty McCall first met in the mid-1980s, they were considered the "first call" background vocalists and commercial jingle singers by studio producers in Nashville. But the trio's pristine vocals couldn't be contained in the background, and they soon found themselves moving to the forefront of the contemporary Christian music scene, eventually recording 13 albums over a 15-year ministry that was marked by national and international tours, three Dove Awards and five Grammy nominations.
Tunney, Keen and McCall are once again undivided, as First Call reunites for the 2013 Lord of All Tour.
